“Cúc Đào” — one sip, a petal falls. We had a slow morning at Oshino Hakkai, an ancient village mirrored in the shadow of Mount Fuji. We came to Japan to learn about matcha — layered, precise, traditional. But what stopped us was a quiet side moment: a small café, a short menu, a matcha-peach drink — no milk, no cream, simply clean. We tried it. No one said anything. We just sat quietly, and ordered another. Back in Hanoi, we started cooking peach syrup, selecting new matcha, and adding handmade peach jelly to give the glass extra life. That’s how “Cúc Đào” came to be — not elaborate, not perfect, but effortlessly right. Like an outfit you didn’t plan to wear, but everyone remembers.
